Why convert HTML to TXT?
- Readable archives — keep the text of web pages without markup.
- Text analysis and AI tools — feed clean text without HTML noise.
- Copy into anything — forms, messages, spreadsheets and code.
How the conversion works
The HTML is parsed, invisible parts are skipped, and block elements such as paragraphs and headings become line breaks. Whitespace is tidied while preformatted text keeps its original spacing.
What is an HTML file?
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the language of web pages. An HTML file is plain text with tags such as <h1> for headings, <p> for paragraphs and <img> for pictures. Any web browser can open it, on any operating system, without extra software.
HTML is a convenient format for reading and sharing documents: it keeps headings, lists, tables, links and emphasis, and a single file can even carry its images embedded inside it.
What is a TXT file?
A TXT file contains plain text only: no fonts, layout, images or hidden markup. That makes it the most portable document format there is. It opens on every device and in every text editor, is easy to search and process with scripts, and takes up very little space.
The trade-off is that formatting such as bold text, tables and pictures cannot be stored. Line breaks and blank lines are the only structure a TXT file has.
