Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms govern your use of FreeConvertter at freeconvertter.com (the “service”), operated by the FreeConvertter operator. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
FreeConvertter provides free tools that convert and edit documents, e-books, PDFs and spreadsheets. Conversions run entirely in your web browser; your files are not uploaded to us. The service is supported by advertising. We may add, change or remove tools at any time.
2. Your files and your responsibility
You keep all rights to your files and to the results. You may only convert files that you own or are otherwise allowed to use and convert. You are responsible for complying with copyright and other laws when you use the results.
3. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service to circumvent technical protection measures such as DRM, or to infringe anyone’s copyright or other rights (the converters refuse DRM-protected files);
- use the service for any unlawful purpose;
- interfere with the site, attempt to break its security, or put an unreasonable load on it, including with automated scripts or bots;
- copy, frame or resell the site or its content in a way that suggests it is your own service.
4. No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Conversions are performed automatically and may not preserve every detail of the original — for example layout, fonts, styles, images or formulas, as described on each tool’s page. Always keep your original files and check results before relying on them.
5. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, revenue or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Because files are processed on your device and never reach us, we cannot recover lost or damaged files. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
6. Third-party content and software
The site shows advertisements from third parties and links to other websites, for which we are not responsible. The service is built with open-source software used under its licenses; see Open-source licenses.
7. Intellectual property
The site’s design, text and code (excluding open-source components and your own files) belong to the operator. “FreeConvertter” is the name of this service; other product names and trademarks mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe file formats.
8. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; the date above shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. We may suspend access for anyone who breaches them.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes are subject to the courts having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act of the Republic of Korea, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
