Why convert XLSX to HTML?
- Publish data — put price lists, schedules or results on a website.
- Share read-only — anyone can view the tables in a browser without Excel.
- Email and documentation — paste tables into tools that accept HTML.
How the conversion works
Each selected sheet is rendered to an HTML table with SheetJS, cleaned of anything unsafe, and placed under a heading with the sheet’s name in a single, self-contained page.
What is an XLSX file?
XLSX is Microsoft Excel’s default workbook format since 2007, based on the Office Open XML standard. A workbook can contain several sheets, each a grid of cells holding text, numbers, dates or formulas, together with formatting, charts and comments. Inside, it is a ZIP archive of XML files.
XLSX opens in Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, Apple Numbers and Hancom Cell. Files ending in .xlsm are the same format with macros enabled.
What is an HTML file?
HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the language of web pages. An HTML file is plain text with tags such as <h1> for headings, <p> for paragraphs and <img> for pictures. Any web browser can open it, on any operating system, without extra software.
HTML is a convenient format for reading and sharing documents: it keeps headings, lists, tables, links and emphasis, and a single file can even carry its images embedded inside it.
