Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information FreeConvertter (“we”, “the site”) processes when you use freeconvertter.com, why, and what choices you have. The site is operated by the FreeConvertter operator, Republic of Korea.
The short version
- Your files never leave your device. Every conversion runs inside your web browser. The files you choose are not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see them.
- We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal details to use the converters.
- Like most websites, the site is delivered by a hosting provider that sees technical data such as your IP address, and — if you agree — it uses Google Analytics to measure visits and Google AdSense to show ads, which use cookies.
1. Files you convert
When you select or drop a file, it is read by JavaScript running in your browser and converted in your device’s memory. The result is offered to you as a download from that same memory. No part of the file, its name or its contents is transmitted over the network, stored on a server or logged. Closing or reloading the page discards everything.
Some converters load helper data from this site, such as fonts and character maps needed to read PDF files. These are downloads to your browser; nothing about your file is sent with them.
2. Information collected automatically
Hosting and security. The site is served by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site against attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.
Analytics (with your consent where required). We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and tools are used, so we can improve the site. It collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site, using cookies or similar identifiers. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. We do not send Google Analytics any information about the files you convert.
Advertising. The site is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. Your preferences. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage on your device. It is never sent to us.
3. Cookies and your consent
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a consent message, provided by a Google-certified consent management platform, before analytics or advertising cookies are used. You can accept, reject or customise these choices and change them at any time through the “Privacy settings” link in the footer. If you reject them, you can still use every converter; ads may then be non-personalised or limited. See our Cookie Policy for the list of cookies.

5. Who receives information
We do not sell your personal information for money. Information is processed by these service providers on our behalf or as independent controllers:
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) — hosting, content delivery and security.
- Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd. — analytics, advertising and consent management.
Under California law, the use of advertising cookies may count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can opt out through the consent settings or Google’s Ads Settings.
These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long information is kept
We keep no copy of your files at any time. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically. Advertising cookies expire according to Google’s settings (see the Cookie Policy). Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your request, and no longer than three years.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, California law or the Korean Personal Information Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we do not collect names or accounts, most information is held by Google and Cloudflare and is linked to cookies or identifiers rather than to you by name; you can delete cookies in your browser at any time. 8. Children
The site is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the European Union, under 14 in Korea), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
9. Security
Because files are processed only on your device, they are never exposed to our servers. The site is served exclusively over HTTPS, and we keep the software we use up to date.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version; significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
